Unsuspecting, life seeks to prevent normalcy. Instilling messages of dangers, no control They continue to demand routines - Fall in love, marry, Reality is fake Unusual events fall, snuck into life Their way is blocked, increasingly inplausible Arguments, breaks, depressed and confused, they are consoled by memory Emotional stability seems to return All except for that sleeping is out of sight, disappeared through a tunnel The sun rises hours ahead of schedule Fear manages to persist And yet, they continue to sail Until - to their surprise - the real world brings comfort There is nothing to fear They may die They may sail into a storm But they are safe with each other, Protected by trust, and love, and normalcy. Week 6 - Imagist Poetry

1.) "The image is the poet's pigment. The image is not an idea, it is a radiant node or cluster. A vortex through which and from which and into which ideas are constantly rushing. It is as true for painting and sculpture as it is for poetry." 2.)  When writing poetry, I often opt to break the lines the way they make the most sense. That being said, I usually resign to making each line a complete sentence, and rarely ever venturing into the territory of cutting off a line at a point where it is grammatically incorrect. It has been rather difficult for me to through caution to the wind structurally in my poetry, primarily because I've been taught that breaking the grammatical structure in anything is about the worst offense any writer could do. Week 2 - Writing Process

          When writing, I've found that I have to be prompted or inspired to be able to sit down and create a written piece. It's extremely difficult for me to be sat down in front of a computer and just begin typing out an idea. My writing habits are unfortunately a lot more scarce than I'd like to admit. I thrived in high school with my writing, as my senior year I managed to get signed up for 3 different english classes to have the outlet to write. However, with the start of my college life, the only writing I usually stay faithful to is my journal, a habit I've stuck to since I was about 6. When writing, I prefer to be in a quiet and isolated place. Any music, talking, or constant noises keep me from concentrating, and there are times where I will go to the third floor in the library just so I have guaranteed silence. It usually doesn't particularly matter the time of day I prefer to write, however, I find that I'm not quite properly "warmed up"
